Businesses and non-profit organizations form teams, in person or virtually, and participate in the SimplyIOA Corporate 5k presented by Key HR for camaraderie, friendly competition and celebrating with co-workers.

Reunited And it Feels So Good! It was obvious participants in the 2022 SimplyIOA Corporate 5k presented by Key HR were glad to be back to some much-needed togetherness. On Thursday, April 21st in downtown Orlando a collective cheer could be heard from 7,300 athletes representing 336 local corporations and non-profits, many who’ve spent the last two years working apart. At last, we could run and walk together and provide food assistance for local families, friends, and co-workers. Together participants contributed almost 115,000 meals to Second Harvest Food Bank!

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings welcomed and thanked the athletes for stepping out with their co-workers. Mayor Demings, on Team Orange County Government, finished the 3.1 miles in 59:32! Overall mens’ champion, Joe Farrand, a music teacher from Spring Lake Elementary lead the race from start to finish. He finished the race on a high note, running the 5k in 15:21 for a repeat victory. Joe was the men’s champion in 2017. Annabella Tomasic, 11, who joined her mother Brikenna Tomasic on Team OUC, won the women’s division in a time of 18:05. Overall CEO honors went to Sheriff John Mina of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office running 22:22 and to Jill Traver of In Motion Physical Therapy running 22:42. This is another victory for Jill who won the CEO Women’s division in 2019.
