Nicollet Mall has seen plenty of exits in the past year or so, but a big, beer-focused restaurant is coming to one of the street’s newest buildings.
The new-to-market HopCat, a concept out of Grand Rapids, Mich., is planning a $2 million location on the ground level of the Nic on Fifth apartment tower.
HopCat will have seating for 240 people inside, along with a 100-seat patio along Nicollet Mall and 5th Street.
A summer opening is planned; construction on the 5,500-square-foot space (plus the 1,800-square-foot patio) will begin once permits are finalized. Grand Rapids-based Wolverine Building Group is the general contractor for the project and Cuhaci & Peterson Architects out of Orlando, Fla., will design the space.View Article
